Shopify integration analytics and profit analytics

Shopify is a global e-commerce platform for building and running online stores. Connecting your Shopify store to DataSync puts your direct channel in the same model as your marketplaces, ERP, advertising and stock, so you can see what it really contributes next to everything else you sell through.

Why connect Shopify to the rest of your data

Your own store is usually the channel you control most and understand least in context. Shopify shows what sold there. It does not show whether a product earns more on Shopify than on Trendyol or Hepsiburada once advertising, shipping and returns are counted, or whether the stock you are driving traffic to is also needed for a marketplace campaign next week.

DataSync synchronizes Shopify into one model with your marketplaces, your ERP (Logo Tiger, Netsis, Mikro or SAP Business One), your ad accounts in Google Ads and Meta Ads, and your stock. The direct channel is then read through the same definitions and thresholds as every other channel.

How the Shopify connection works

  1. Authorise. You authorise DataSync with your Shopify store, using API keys, OAuth or a service user depending on what the platform provides.
  2. Map. Item codes, warehouses and channels are matched to your DataSync model. Presets exist for common platforms.
  3. Sync. Data arrives through real-time webhooks where the platform offers them and scheduled batches where it does not. Deltas reconcile nightly.
  4. Use. Shopify appears as a source in reports, rules and SYNC AI answers, with its own freshness indicator.

Before you connect

A connection is quicker when three things are ready: access to your Shopify store for the authorisation step, a clear list of the item codes your ERP uses for the same products, and an agreed view of which warehouses and channels should be treated separately. That is what the mapping step relies on.

DataSync assesses your sources before anything is built. Implementations fail on data nobody checked, not on software, so each dataset is reviewed for readiness first and the work is sequenced by what matters most to the business and by what is actually ready. SYNC configuration, where your organization structure, business rules, stock thresholds, KPIs and report formats are defined, begins after the required API connections are completed. A typical launch takes three weeks end to end.

Decisions that become possible once Shopify sits next to ERP, ads and stock

  • What the direct channel really contributes. Order Profitability reads Shopify orders after shipping, returns, advertising spend and ERP product cost, on the same basis as your marketplace orders.
  • Where advertising is paying back. Google Ads and Meta Ads spend is read against Shopify contribution and stock, not only against revenue.
  • Whether a store promotion pays. The Promotion Calculator shows what a discounted price leaves per unit and how much extra volume it needs.
  • Whether a price change holds up. SmartPricing checks a proposed Shopify price against your margin floor and stock cover before it goes live.
  • Which channel should get the stock. When stock is limited, the same SKU can be compared on Shopify and each marketplace before deciding where to sell it.

Shopify alongside your marketplaces

Brands that run their own store next to marketplace presence face the same reconciliation problem in every channel review. The Munchkin Türkiye case study describes a business that runs its own direct storefront alongside marketplace presence and brought every channel into one connected view.

With Shopify in the same model, SYNC AI can answer questions such as which products should be pushed on the direct store rather than on a marketplace, with the answer scoped to each person's role.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Shopify integration live?

Yes. Shopify is listed as Live in the DataSync integrations directory.

How do I connect Shopify to DataSync?

You authorise DataSync with your Shopify store, item codes, warehouses and channels are mapped to your DataSync model, and data then syncs through webhooks where available and scheduled batches otherwise, with deltas reconciled nightly.

Can I compare my Shopify store with marketplaces like Trendyol and Amazon?

Yes. When the channels are connected, the same SKU is read on each one after its own costs, using the same product cost and definitions, so the direct channel and the marketplaces can be compared on equal terms.

Does DataSync connect Shopify with my ad accounts?

Yes. Google Ads and Meta Ads are live integrations, and Google Analytics 4 is in beta. Their data is read in the same model as your Shopify orders.
